Unprecedented Broadside

Letterpress print of "Unprecedented" in red on white card stock.

This was a tricky print to set the type for: setting type straight is easy, setting type that looks like it's falling through the air is harder. Once I had the image in my head, bringing it to life required 3D printing custom letterpress "furniture" to set the falling type in place; no one was more amazed than I when it actually worked!

Printed on a 105 year old Golding Jobber № 8 letterpress in red, set in Akzidenz Grotesk.

There are two versions available:

The first is printed on 67 lb. card stock, and is 8½ by 11 inches. This is pictured in the first photo.

The second, a limited edition, is printed on 140 lb. cold press Canson watercolour paper and is 9 by 11 inches; this version has an extra "three dimensionality" to it. This version is pictured in the second two photos.
